WRITING & EDITING

STUFF

Different names. Separate websites. Multiple businesses. One cool AF company. After rapidly expanding their creative agency/studio/retail/collective empire, the ambitious owners of Chil Creative realized they’d neglected their own brand while building others’.

To reset, they wanted a website refresh. So I audited their site, making info more efficient, captivating, and readable. But something still didn’t sit right with them.

I consulted on their brand structure. And determined it was time to take a daunting (but necessary) next step: Unite all of their arms under a single parent company called Chil & Co.

With this in mind, I further refined their messaging, providing language to describe who they are – their DNA – and giving their company a clear, authentic voice for the future.

CHIL & CO

Ten-year Mindpower client Baylor School wanted to extend the success of its BaylorLeads campaign. They needed a digital strategy showing Atlanta parents that a premier boarding school was just two hours away in Chattanooga.

We first revamped Baylor's overviewSTEAM, and Global Scholars landing pages. I wrote and edited the copy, bringing important (but absent) points forward. For example, no info on how to become a Global Scholar existed on Baylor’s site, so I researched the steps to include on the new page. I also helped develop the visual layouts for all three landing pages.

And the last pieces of the puzzle: I wrote display, Facebook, and Instagram ads that drove to the pages.

FloridaShines is an initiative helping high school students get ready for, get into, and get through college. A couple of years after its initial brand launch, FloridaShines was ready to ramp up its efforts to reach high schoolers.

To start, we developed targeted Snapchat and Instagram video ads. I helped concept the ads and wrote the landing pages to which the ads led.

Part of this new marketing push was for MyCareerShines, a FloridaShines program that matches people of all ages with careers – and then gives them all the tools they need to get there. I wrote two email series, one geared toward parents of high schoolers and another for adults.

Following the fanfare of a campus launch, Savannah State University needed to take its brand campaign – Smart. Bold. Proud. Seriously Impressive. – beyond campus.

Seriously Impressive is all about uplifting the stories of the University’s students, faculty, and alumni. I researched (interviews and focus groups), wrote, and edited nearly 40 of those stories. (Here are some of my faves!) And I guided the visual design and helped develop the content strategy to publish them on a brand-new microsite.

I also helmed the writing and strategy for SSU's viewbook, planning the layout, curating stories, and writing content.
